The COVID 19 pandemic has been hard on everyone. For many, it has caused great loss and tragedy and my heart goes out to folks who are dealing with profound grief. For others, it has been hard to adjust to the new lifestyle, the new way we are all living. The loneliness and isolation has been a challenge as well. We are used to being with friends and family or going to a show or out for dinner without even thinking twice. Now, we must plan, decide, assess risk and think twice before heading out the door. The decision making about it all has been exhausting. On top of decision making, there is not a person out there who isn’t worrying for their children, their elderly parents or grandparents, their vulnerable family member. This is all to say that if you don’t feel that you are getting through this pandemic well, you are not alone. We are all muddying through and trying to do our best under very unusual circumstances. When I am feeling overwhelmed with all the changes and uncertainty, I remind myself that we are all in this together. We are all going through the exact same feelings, thoughts, worries and challenges. I also remind myself on a daily basis that no matter what happens, no matter what loss occurs in my own life, it will be okay. Somehow, someway.
